Chevy Chase is an American comedian, actor, and writer. He first came to the limelight with National Lampoon and was a cast member in the first season of Saturday Night Live. Cornelius Crane Chase was born on October 8, 1943, to a Princeton-educated father. He graduated from Bard College with a degree in English in 1969.
Chase started his career as a writer in 1969, he wrote for the Smothers Brothers and National Lampoon. By 1975, he became a cast member of National Lampoon, and in October of the same year, he became a cast member of Saturday Night Live. He received an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role on SNL.
Chase got his first major role in Foul Play, the film grossed $44 million. In 1980, he starred alongside Goldie Hawn in the box office success, Seems Like Old Times. He also appeared in successful films like Man of the House, Vegas Vacation, Snow Day, and Orange County.
